THE MOMENT:
An ordinary adult browser at a well-attended estate sale has JUST noticed one peculiar object. We catch the fraction of a second when her face registers interest but her body has not responded yet. Her eye finds it, one eyebrow lifts, the very beginning of a private smirk appears at one corner of her mouth. Her hand has NOT decided to reach. She is not grasping, pointing, hovering over, touching or reaching toward the discovery. The beauty is in that small delay between recognition and action. Quiet, funny, intimate, psychologically precise.

GRAPHIC APPROACH:
Strong pulp-noir gravity, simplified to bold expressive shapes. Think a striking old paperback-cover print built from large black cut-paper masses, a few cream planes, deep petrol teal and restrained ochre. Economical angular ink contours, a little dry-brush interruption, occasional coarse hatching, worn paper and imperfect ink coverage. Most forms are implied through silhouette and negative space. Resist rendering all the things. Strong graphic abstraction, not naturalistic shaded drawing or polished storybook art.

COMPOSITION:
A wide 2:1 single scene, cropped intimately across the edge of an estate-sale table. The woman's face in three-quarter view is the dominant focal point in the middle-right, emerging partly from a large quiet shadow. One small object near the lower-left foreground catches a SINGLE sharp cream/ochre glint. It is only an ambiguous curved metal edge and a dark shape, not a fully described antique or decorative box. The eye and glint are visually connected by her clearly directed downward-left glance. Place her face and the glint close enough together that this glance reads immediately.
Behind her, a modest crowd of shoppers is reduced to overlapping flat shadow profiles, a few bent heads, perhaps an arm inspecting a book, cut against a muted doorway. Sparse hints of domestic shelves and tables establish an estate sale without an inventory. A small, unobtrusive ESTATE SALE card may be the only text. Foreground objects are cropped geometric silhouettes.

EXPRESSION:
Small plainly drawn adult eyes focused on the glint. One unmistakably raised eyebrow. The mouth is mostly neutral, with just ONE corner beginning to lift, an almost-smile rather than an established grin. Her head has barely inclined toward the discovery. No huge eyes or exaggerated cartoon wonder.
The light catches a narrow plane of cheek and brow; the rest can dissolve into graphic shadow. Give her short casually tousled hair as a few expressive black shapes.

THE HAND:
A secondary, quiet form at rest near the table edge below her torso, comfortably AWAY from the glint and discovered object. It remains in its idle browsing position, loosely resting beside an unrelated closed book, fingers relaxed and uncommitted. It has not moved toward what she is seeing. Suggest it economically with a few natural contours and correct human anatomy. It should never compete with her face or look poised to pick up the object. Let part of the wrist or hand merge into the surrounding ink shadow.

HIERARCHY:
First the lifted eyebrow and eye; second the tiny glint; third the barely forming smirk. The relaxed hand is something the viewer realizes afterward. Large calm areas of ink and paper give this fleeting moment room. Background people are pure atmosphere.

PALETTE:
Near-black charcoal, aged cream, deep petrol teal, ochre gold, at most a tiny rust accent. Flat color and hard-edged chiaroscuro, warm and human within the noir drama. The drawing itself is visibly rough and economical; texture is not a filter over detailed realism.

AVOID:
A reaching hand, a hand hovering over the object, pointing, grasping, an established big smile, detailed antiques, an ornate brass sphere or box, photographic depth of field, smoothly modeled skin, giant glossy eyes, detailed background faces, visual clutter, crime or detective costumes, magic light beams, gradients, 3D rendering, speech balloons, panel borders, title or watermark. Do not turn this into an illustration of the action of buying something. It is the instant before the action has even occurred to her hand.
